Here is a copy of the letter we received from Fr Barry Larkin who was with us for Fr Paul’s First Solemn Mass on the 24th August 2014.
“What a privilege for me to have been part of Fr Paul’s recent First Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving, a wonderful celebration for Fr Paul, Paul’s family, friends, and the parish of Saint Julian. Both Fr Paul and I have been friends since our seminary training at the Pontifical Beda College, Rome. In July Fr Paul attended my ordination to the Priesthood in Ireland; I was delighted to travel to Malta for his recent celebration. Fr. David from Ireland and Fr. Ralph from England were also present.
My time in Malta coincided with the celebration of the Parish Feast of Saint Julian and what a joyous time that was culminating in a breath-taking four hour procession from the Church around the parish last Sunday evening, August 31st the Feast of Saint Julian. What I appreciate most is how Fr. Claude, the Parish Priest, Fr. Paul and the other parish clergy, so generously included me in so many wonderful liturgies and parish activities, interpreting various parts of liturgies for me to include me as much as possible. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness.
Fr Paul, thank you for the invitation, sincere thanks for your friendship, and for looking after me during my stay in beautiful Malta. As you commence your ministry may the Lord Bless you abundantly.
With Kind Regards.
Fr. Barry Larkin.
Diocese of Ferns.”
