Dear member of the St. Julians Community,
This Sunday we celebrate the solemnity of Pentecost, the descent of the Holy Spirit on the first Community.

Together we should reflect on this and understand that God wants us to bear the fruit of the Spirit. We should realise that God chose you and me for this mission together, not on our own.
In our hands, we have this Good News, which is not only for us but which needs to be proclaimed. On my own as the parish priest, I cannot do much, but together we can make a difference.
I cannot join you and your family, be with your friends, be in places of work or entertainment, in the shops and groups you frequent etc, but you can, wherever you are!
I understand that you all have your own commitments, and the Lord is aware of this. Probably your call is not a call to leave everything, but, as a baptised person, you are called to proclaim the Good News of the Love of God, through the Holy Spirit which is in you and which you received in baptism.
Let us remember that in order to do so, we need to cling to Him, as Jesus himself said that on our own we cannot do anything.
If we are in him, we will succeed in transmitting love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness and in exercising self-control. These are the fruits which come from the Spirit of the Lord, and in this way, we will be passing on the Good News without the need of words.
This Sunday, let us pray to the Holy Spirit to fill us with courage so that, as a community, we will spread the sweet fragrance of Christ through our actions.
Peace and blessings
Fr Paul Mizzi
