PARISH NOTICES 30th September to 1st October 2023


  • Collection:  We thank you for the collection made in aid of the Franciscans working in the Holy Land, which amounted to €1,600.
  • This is the first weekend of the month and the collection will go towards the needs of the Parish.  We remind you about the air conditioning costs, the renovation of the Pope John Paul II Hall upstairs, the expenses of the roof maintenance and the St Julians Centre, amounting to some €14,000 in total. We appreciate you help.
  • The General Ordinary Assembly of Bishops will meet during the month of October. We are encouraged to pray so that the synod will help Pope Francis in the direction he gives his pastoral work in the Church in our times.
  • Feast of St Faustina Kowalska: Although the feast of St Faustina is on Thursday, a special Mass at the Parish Church will be organised by the Apostleship of Divine Mercy in her honour on Tuesday at 7pm.
  • Meeting for parents and godparents:  A meeting will be held on Wednesday at 7.00pm at the Centre for those parents and godparents whose children will be receiving their confirmation this year.
  • Nisa Giljanizi Group: The meetings of the group will commence on Thursday with a Mass at 10am at the Parish Church. The session continues at the Hall of the Conference Centre.
  • First Friday and Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary: On Friday, we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. A procession will be held after the evening Mass.  This will leave the parish church, cross the bridge, go up Forrest Street towards Mensija Street, back down Forrest Street (in front of the Local Council), proceed through Wied Ghomor Street, Main Street, Mons Guido Calleja Street and back towards the parish church.
  • Baptism: On Sunday the sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated during the 11.00am mass in the Parish Church.
  • Meetings for adoloscents who received their confirmation. With the assitance of Y4J we will resume the formaton meetings after confirmaiton. These will be held at the St Julians Centre on Saturdays during the times of catechism meetings. Those who wish to apply must collect the application form at the conference centre on Saturday.
  • Notice from the Local Council: The Local Council would like to advise that anyone over 18 who would like to take the influenza vaccine may call the Council until Friday 6th October.
  • Prayers for the faithful departed:  We pray for Guza Sant, Tony Rizzo, Robert Dingli and Rose Micallefwho went to eternal life during the month of September.  Eternal rest give unto them Oh Lord….
